Gator Point Marina was started back in 1987 by my parents, Bill and Barbara Cross. I had the fun job of helping them run the dock and deli for 10 of those seasons along with my husband and two small kids. We left the dock in 2003 to pursue other business interests such as our lake front over night rental company, Smoky Mountain Lake Rentals, Inc., raise kids and give my parents the retirement they so deserved.
But sometimes we all have to come full circle. We are pleased to announce that the family is back operating the marina under it's new name for 2011, GATOR POINT DOCK 'N' DELI, LLC.
The kids are grown up and are now a vital part of the Gator Point team! Come see how they have changed!!
We have set a goal to bring back the family atmosphere that once was synonymous with Gator Point. We want you to bring your family because kids are our most important customer. We are even offering a kids meal for just $2.99 that comes with Kraft Mac and Cheese, Grilled Cheese, Hot Dog or PBJ plus a drink and Oreo cookies. Re-introduced is my Mom's delicious BBQ too! Of course, we plan to carry on some of the recent traditions started during the last 9 years like grilled 8 oz hamburgers and platters of Nachos!
Tropical music will be playing once again as well as the Hibiscus plants that used to be dotted along the dock giving you and island feel in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee!
We offer boat slips and boat rentals including PONTOON, CANOE AND KAYAKS. Our store carries NON ETHANOL GAS (we try to be the least expensive on Douglas Lake), night crawlers, ice cream, ice, beer, drinks and snacks.
